Possible sasquatch observed by cabin renter at 100 yards outside Gatlingburg
The witness and two companions were relaxing in an outdoor hot tub at a vacation cabin near Gatlinburg when the woods went silent and tree movement was heard. The witness noticed a motionless black shape resembling a gorilla's head and shoulders in sunlit brush about 100 yards away and watched it for several minutes. After briefly looking away at the cabin wall, he found the shape gone, and shortly after heard trees cracking. He watched for about ten more minutes without seeing anything further.
Memory told of a late night close encounter from a parked vehicle outside Gatlinburg
The witness and a companion were parked in a truck at a mountain road landing late at night and watched a wild boar rooting in snow. After the boar fled, an upright figure appeared at the tree line, stood over the boar's spot, and was then illuminated by high beams. The figure blocked the light, showed glowing eyes, grunted, crossed the road in three strides, grabbed a sapling and disappeared uphill, leaving a strong odor.

Four people were coon hunting at night on a river bank waiting for their dogs when they heard rustling behind them. They turned toward a moonlit field and saw an outlined hairy figure. The figure ran rapidly across the field edge twice, dropping from upright to all fours and back upright without breaking stride.
