The figure watched the witness, matched movements, and approached, then chased the witness who fled to a farmhouse porch. The creature eventually left toward the pasture with farm dogs chasing it, and the witness hid until a companion arrived.

The witness and two companions were collecting bottles along a shaded dirt road in the evening when they heard an extremely loud scream-like roar and noticed a strong odor. The witness looked through the door window and described a large face peering in that then screamed and pushed away. Both went out the back and watched the figure step over a barbed-wire fence and run away hunched over with very long arms. A next-day search found no tracks, but they measured the door window at seven and a half feet above the ground.

During a multi-day canoe camping trip along a river, the witness and a companion chased an animal to the top of a cliff near camp. The witness collided with a large hair-covered creature and both the creature and the two companions screamed. The pair fled in panic over the cliff edge and survived the fall, while other campers heard the screams and saw the fall.

The witness was resting by the Des Plaines River during a bicycle ride when a hair-covered creature was seen across the river splashing in the water. After the witness coughed, the creature threw large rocks toward the witness, then crossed the river silently and confronted the witness at close range. The witness fled along a trail while hearing a loud howl and screaming and seeing additional shadowy figures across the river.

The witness, then a teenager, was riding in a car with friends at night near Allaire State Park when they heard a high-pitched screech. While making a K-turn, the headlights illuminated a very tall reddish-brown manlike figure very close to the front of the car. The figure appeared surprised by the lights, the driver froze, a companion honked the horn with no immediate reaction, and a musty smell was noticed.

Five boys were camping overnight in a repaired old logging cabin in the woods. During the night they were awakened by huffing, shuffling and prying sounds as something circled and probed the cabin walls. When the door was opened they saw only dark hairy legs in the darkness, a companion fired a rifle, and the creature screamed and fled with heavy thuds, leaving torn ground and indentations.

Late at night in 1963, the witness and four companions were hunting raccoons with dogs in a creek bottom south of Tyler, Texas. After the dogs treed something, the group illuminated a large reddish-furred animal in a pin oak that was howling and screaming while waving its arms and shaking limbs. After someone fired at it with a .22, it growled and the group fled with the dogs back to their vehicles.

The witness was on a Boy Scout campout in the Murdoch area near Tampa. On the second night after midnight during an initiation outing with another scout, they saw a very large figure running bipedally into the woods at high speed while giving a high-pitched scream or shriek. A strange smell was noted but was attributed at the time to sulphur water. The troop reportedly never returned to the area to camp.

Two children playing hide-and-seek ran into an alley and came face to face with a tall, dark-haired bipedal animal about fifteen feet away walking toward them. A prospector camping alone in coastal mountains awoke at night to being carried inside his sleeping bag for hours to a small enclosed valley. There he encountered four hair-covered individuals described as a family group and was held for about six days living on remaining canned food. He gained favor with the younger ones using snuff and handmade utensils, then incapacitated the adult male with a large dose of snuff and escaped during the resulting commotion, hiking south to a logging camp for help.

When the group fled toward the road it chased them with audible footsteps before stopping at the brush, and a heavy station wagon nearby was later found overturned and torn apart.

In early fall 1980 around 7 p.m., the witness was in the kitchen after feeding horses while his wife brought in laundry. Both heard screaming near the corral gate, the wife ran inside frightened and horses fled, and the witness glimpsed a very tall dark furry figure moving through a lit patch while it screamed and made clicking growling noises before he went back inside and locked doors.
