On the morning of October 5 2009 the witness and a companion were driving toward a hunting area when two black upright figures about seven feet tall ran across the road and into dense brush. The witness drove closer and then got out to listen but heard nothing and the figures were gone. The party left the woods that night and returned days later with a relative to find odor, snapped small trees, a possible print, and scat.

Two companions were driving west on Highway 26 after a fishing trip when they slowed near stopped cars. An ape-like creature sprang from the woods very close to their car and ran behind it across the road from north to south, moving on its knuckles with unusual quickness and nearly being hit by a following car. The morning after a night of knocking sounds at a remote ridge camp, the witness and a companion were driving out on a logging road when a very tall dark figure ran across the road ahead of them and disappeared into the trees. They stopped at the crossing point and searched the uphill slope, where the witness found and videotaped an 18-inch barefoot-like track in moss along with other partial marks, and heard something noisy move away through the forest.

The witness was driving east on Highway 138 near Cascade Summit Pass in the early evening. About 50 yards ahead, a large very dark humanoid figure emerged from the woods and crossed the roadway to the south with long, fast strides. It disappeared into the woods before the witness reached the spot and appeared dark from head to foot.

The figure crossed from left to right in a few strides and disappeared over the roadside bank. During an overnight fishing trip the witness and his girlfriend were sleeping in a parked vehicle near a cabin when they noticed a tall hair-covered figure standing at the tree line and two smaller crouched figures near a truck. After alerting a companion in the cabin, the witness started the vehicle to shine lights on the figures, which then fled into the trees. A companion reported something running across the road as they drove, and later the group heard commotion near the lake.

Late at night in July 2002 the witness was driving with a companion on Highway 199 through fire-affected forest when a large hair-covered biped entered the high beams and crossed in front of the vehicle. The witness described instinctual fear and accelerated away while the creature continued across to the trees without running. Both occupants expressed disbelief, and minutes later they passed firefighters who looked shocked.

Two motorists driving westbound on the freeway at night reported a very tall, thin, hair-covered biped crossing in front of their car toward the river. They narrowly missed striking it and lost sight of it at the guardrail. They then called a relative by cell phone to report what had happened.

The witness then went outside to bring in a dog, noticed a bad odor, and later searches found no footprints.

The witness was driving home from work in the early morning when a large creature crossed the highway in front of the car. The creature was walking upright and covered the road in three large steps. As the witness drove past the location, a musty odor like wet canvas was noticed.

The witness's companion was watching a hawk and did not see the figure, and the witness remained uncertain what it was.

Around Christmas 1985 a driver was hauling east over Cabbage Hill on I-84 around 1:30 a.m. when a blondish-brown human-like creature crossed in front of the truck. He stopped with it in his headlights about two feet away and watched it for about a minute. It slapped the hood with both hands and then walked and jogged away into the woods, while his co-driver woke only in time to see it leaving.

While driving to the summit with his wife, the witness noticed a dark figure sitting at the base of a tree that he first mistook for a hunter. The figure stood up, walked across the road behind their vehicle, paused about 30 seconds to look at them, then descended a steep hillside out of sight. The witness estimated it at about 8 feet tall by a nearby tree and described it as massive, dark brown and long-haired with wide shoulders and long arms.

In early-morning darkness and light rain the witness was driving a paper route near Arago when a large reddish-brown long-haired animal crossed the road and scaled a steep grassy roadcut within about 15 feet of the truck. The animal moved very fast with rear legs set wide apart and spine not flexing like a bear, using its front limbs hand-over-hand, showing broad shoulders, a flat-profile face and a part in the wet hair along its spine. It reached the top in seconds and went out of sight.

The witness was driving home at night in summer 1980 with family asleep in the car when a light-colored, hairy, male figure emerged from roadside trees and stopped in the headlights. She stopped the car and observed it face-to-face, noting its size, musculature, long head hair, facial hair, and strong odor before it walked off the road. Her companions slept through the event.

The witness and a companion were driving at night when a large hair-covered upright figure entered the road ahead of them in the headlights. It reportedly paused to look toward them, then ran down the road before leaving up an embankment. The occupants exited the car but saw nothing further.

The witness and a companion were driving west on Highway 6 toward the coast when a large dark figure crossed the road ahead of them. The figure was first noticed from several hundred yards away and entered dense roadside forest with no path. By the time they reached the crossing point it had disappeared into foliage described as impassable.
