A witness and his son were driving slowly while spotting for deer when they noticed a large dark upright figure moving through brush toward them. The son photographed it with a cellphone as it traveled parallel to the road, paused to look at them, then crossed the narrow road in two steps and vanished into dense brush. Investigators later interviewed the witnesses, examined the photos, and revisited the site for measurements.

The witness was driving at night on a road through a swamp area when headlights revealed a large hairy biped standing in the road. As the witness braked and approached, the figure appeared on the roadside about 10 feet from its original position without being seen to move, then vanished toward the swamp. Three men in a truck had just passed through a ranch gate in daylight when a tall, dark-haired creature emerged from a pine thicket and ran across the road in front of them in about three strides. It continued over a fence into trees on the other side in a matter of seconds without making sound. All three occupants reportedly watched the crossing and later searched for footprints without success.

The witness was riding in a car following friends toward a lake campground just after dark. Friends in the lead car reported something crossing the road after a bridge, and about a minute later the witness saw a tall hair-covered figure in brush beside the road that turned to look at the car before walking toward the river and into the woods. No one else in the witness's car saw it, but both occupants of the lead car said they saw it.
