Late at night the witness was driving slowly uphill on the way home when a figure stepped into the headlights and crossed the road. The figure moved very slowly, did not look toward the car, made no sound, and disappeared after crossing. The witness was frightened and chose not to try to hit it because a young child was sleeping in the car.

She stopped close to it, stepped out behind her car door, and watched it for about a minute under her headlights while noting red glowing eyes and a musky odor and feeling calm. The biped then crossed the road, stepped over the opposite fence, paused to look back, and strode toward trees out of sight.
