Early in the morning while heading to fish along a creek, the witness saw a large bipedal creature standing in the water about 15 to 20 yards away. The creature left the creek, struck a tree with its hand, stomped its foot and vocalized, then ran into the forest. The witness watched for about 45 seconds and also noted a musky animal-like odor.

A driver and a relative reported seeing a tall, dark-haired bipedal figure cross a two-lane road in daylight while driving. The figure reportedly paused in their lane to look at their vehicle before continuing into grass and forest. In the early morning the witness was at a rental mobile home property with his wife to check on tenants and let dogs out. The dogs refused to leave the porch while reacting to movement in an adjacent tobacco field. The witness saw a large hunched furred figure with a rounded back in the field and a smaller figure moving away, and heard exchanging chuffing vocalizations and a distressed mewling sound from the field and from across the road near a creek. The figures moved toward tall grass and the tree line, a tree across the road shook as if climbed, a musty odor was noticed, and mashed grass trails were found the next morning.

The witness was sitting at a mountain camp near water around midday when they noticed a bear-like odor and spotted movement on a nearby ridge. A dark, almost black figure initially mistaken for a man stood up from the ground and walked calmly across the ridgetop, close enough for footstep sounds to be heard, before descending out of sight. The witness emphasized the figure was much larger than a bear.

Two men had finished dredging for gold and were talking when they noticed a large dark creature about 100 feet away partly behind a dead tree and tailings pile. The creature reached up and snapped off a tree limb, looked at them for 10 to 20 seconds while a strong smell was present, then turned and walked into the woods. They stayed in the area for two more weeks with no further sightings but reported smelling it several times.

The witness and a companion were parked in a truck at a mountain road landing late at night and watched a wild boar rooting in snow. After the boar fled, an upright figure appeared at the tree line, stood over the boar's spot, and was then illuminated by high beams. The figure blocked the light, showed glowing eyes, grunted, crossed the road in three strides, grabbed a sapling and disappeared uphill, leaving a strong odor.

The witness was driving alone on a deserted hilly road shortly before midnight when he saw a brown hairy animal on all fours that he first took for a large deer. When he closed to about a hundred yards, the animal stood on two feet and ran silently into the woods. He noticed roadkill in the road and a foul smell that he said might have come from the roadkill, then drove away quickly.

The witness was reading late at home while dogs barked outside in the rain. A large hairy figure passed the back door making whistling and other sounds, and the porch light went out. The witness opened the door to a strong odor and saw the figure standing about 30 feet away before it left toward the woods amid crashing sounds and a distant answering whistle.

The witness stopped for a break by a creek in the Cherokee National Forest in the afternoon, smelled a strong musty urine odor and heard a close low grunt. A large black-and-gray upright figure with humanlike facial features watched the witness from underbrush for 1-2 minutes before turning and leaving through thick brush. The witness retreated to a vehicle and later estimated the figure was at least seven feet tall from measuring the standing spot.

In 1986 the witness stopped in a car near a church at dusk to adjust the radio when dirt and gravel struck the hood. The witness then noticed a tall hair-covered figure standing on the roadside berm and drove slowly past it at close range before speeding home. The witness showed dirt still on the hood to a relative that evening and found scooped-out chunks missing from the berm the next day.
