At dawn they found the food cache torn down and learned another nearby camp had also been raided.

The witness then saw a tall hair-covered biped standing in the road about 50 to 60 yards ahead. After the witness stepped out with a rifle and started approaching, the creature turned and ran through briars into a cornfield, and the pair left.

The corn parted and a very tall, thick dark figure stood within arm's length, emitting a strong musky odor and a heavy sigh or grunt before running around the child and disappearing. The child's mother heard the footsteps and corn breaking but did not see the figure.
