Around 2 a.m. on a clear night in late October, the witness heard growls and other noises outside his home and went out with a flashlight to investigate. He reported a strong dead-animal odor, movement across the road, and green eyeshine, then watched a tall dark bipedal animal cross the road into his woods and viewed it at close range in the treeline before retreating to the house. He reported hearing noises through the rest of the night and finding a few tracks afterward.

The witness was hunting raccoons at night with hounds alongside a relative in marshy woods. After the dogs treed and the chased animal left the tree, the witness moved to a ridge to listen, noticed eyeshine, then saw a tall hair-covered animal about twenty feet away on the trail. The two looked at each other briefly, the witness does not recall how it departed, and a foul smell followed back toward the truck. The next morning the witness recovered the hounds still treed with a bobcat.
Teens shining for deer have a scary encounter near Kingsley
Late at night the witness and three companions were shining for deer from a truck when they spotted a large crouched figure with amber eyes in a field. The figure stood up and ran diagonally toward the truck as they drove away. It kept pace to within about ten feet while the truck reached at least 30 mph, then disappeared into the tree line.

The figure paused on the far side, its eyes glowing green, stared for several seconds, then turned into the woods along a trail. In the fall of 1982 the witness was driving at dusk and noticed a tall hair-covered figure standing at the edge of the road. She slowed and observed it for several seconds, noting its long arms, dark face and red-glowing eyes. The figure then jumped quickly into a nearby swamp as she drove away.

He braked to a stop and found a very tall, slender, fur-covered figure standing in front of the vehicle, staring at him for about a minute and a half. The figure then walked off the road, crossed to the nearby tree line while looking back several times, and disappeared into the forest.
Nighttime sighting remembered while driving southeast of Kalkaska
While driving home from Kalkaska after dark, the occupants of a vehicle noticed eye-shine in the headlights beside the road. The headlights revealed a small, very light-colored Bigfoot-like figure that had been sitting with its leg crossed on a log in a small clearing near a cedar swamp. Startled by the light, it stood up and walked casually into the woods and disappeared.

The witness and companions were driving through farm fields shining a spotlight for deer in the evening. The light revealed two large black standing figures with bright red reflective eyes that blinked but did not move. After watching for several minutes the witness felt uneasy and left the area. No deer were seen that night, which was considered unusual.
