The witness was hunting alone at dusk when a rock was thrown from the tree line. He scanned the trees with a gun-mounted light and saw a tall upright creature behind a large oak that growled and screamed, prompting him to fire at the tree. The creature fled bipedally across a meadow toward a valley. Afterwards the witness found hair and blood on the tree where the creature had stood.

The witness braked to a near stop and watched the animal cross the road in long unhurried strides, step over a barbed wire fence, and disappear into the woods. They drove the perimeter with night vision and a high beam and saw eyeshine high in trees near a pond. The witness was coonhunting with dogs in flooded timber at night when the dogs treed separately. After catching their own dogs, the witness heard wading steps, a growl and a whistling sound and smelled a strong putrid odor while the dogs whimpered. The witness then saw a very tall hair-covered creature standing behind them that hissed and splashed water toward them before the witness fled. The creature followed briefly then moved away making moaning sounds, and the witness saw a very large four-toed footprint while leaving.

The witness was driving an 18-wheeler north on Highway 71 near the Sulphur River around 1 a.m. when headlights revealed a trunk-like shape with red shining eyes on the roadside by the water. As the truck got closer, the shape turned and walked on two legs into the swampy brush with large quick steps. As the truck passed the spot, a loud scream was heard over the engine noise with the windows closed, and the witness continued driving without stopping.

In the fall of 1994 the witness walked into the woods behind the home at night with a flashlight and shotgun to scare deer away. He shone the light on a tall, broad, fur-covered figure standing still in brush whose eyes reflected the light. The figure grunted, yelled and moved toward him, the witness fired three times at close range then fled to the house, hearing it run and give a long loud warbling yell.

A family was camping by a river when the mother went behind the truck at night and saw a whitish upright creature at close range. She ran screaming to the others, and the family hurriedly broke camp while an older brother fired shots as the creature circled and crossed the road. Afterwards they found three-toed footprints near the truck and a large dent where the creature had struck the vehicle, then left immediately.
