Motorist observes a tall biped with an ape-like face while driving at dusk near Ariton
The witness was driving north on a rural highway just before dark when they noticed a large dark shape in the roadway ahead. As they got closer, the shape stood and moved to the road shoulder in a few steps, revealing a tall bipedal creature in the headlights. The creature faced the vehicle and raised an arm as the witness passed within about thirty feet, with the significance of the encounter registering only afterward.

The witness and his wife were driving at night when their headlights caught a hair-covered humanlike figure standing on the left side of the road about 25-30 feet away. A group of six campers sitting around a campfire at night heard strange low and high-pitched sounds approaching through the woods. They scanned with a powerful spotlight and saw a hairy upright figure partly hidden behind a tree about 20-30 yards away, with yellow eye glow. It stayed motionless for 30 to 60 seconds and was gone after the light was briefly turned away.

The witness was walking at night with a flashlight to fetch ice when dogs began barking loudly. A very large hair-covered biped ran from behind a house toward the woods, then rushed to the road edge, stared with glowing eyes and made a loud growling sound. The witness screamed and fled home, and a search the next day found no tracks.
