Late one dark evening the witness went behind the house to release tied dogs. A very tall, wide, white-gray fur-covered figure stood motionless a few feet away upright like a man. The witness avoided looking directly, released the dogs, and walked away; one dog halted and cowered while the figure stared without moving or making sound, eventually letting them leave.

The witness pulled off a highway west of Cody in late afternoon to hike north through timber and rocky outcrops. Over about an hour the witness heard rocks rolling, brush breaking and movement that seemed to follow and stop with them. While returning toward the road the witness turned to see an upright, brown, long-haired animal about 60-70 yards away that immediately leapt into dense timber. The witness was uncertain whether the sounds and sighting involved the same animal and noted a bear as a possible alternative, only later considering Bigfoot after finding a website.

A large camping group found a hut-like structure made of snapped boughs and filmed it in detail. While examining the structure, a group member pointed out a distant figure moving along a ridge. The witness videotaped the figure for several minutes as it moved back and forth, gestured, and disappeared behind rocks.

The witness followed to a hilltop to watch it walk through young trees before it disappeared into a swamp.

About 25 to 30 yards away they watched a large hair-covered human-like creature with long arms repeatedly striking the water for up to a few minutes. The creature then left up a steep bank without clearly looking at them, and the men later reported ground disturbance where it exited.

After the witness mimicked the sounds, a large hairy biped crossed the road about 60-70 yards away and paced back and forth, repeatedly stopping in the road to stare at the witness. The witness described upright human-like walking, long arms at the sides, hips wider than shoulders, and an extremely large foot. The animal eventually left into thick bushes leading to heavy fir.

The witness reported rounding a sharp curve on a two-lane road at night with headlights illuminating a standing figure on the roadside very close to the car. The figure appeared hunched and swung its arms in a manner the witness interpreted as angry or about to jump into the road. A daughter was also in the car during the encounter that lasted several seconds.

Two people were boating in a creek on a rainy, windy morning when the witness saw a bulky black bipedal figure 30-40 yards away. The figure walked steadily toward the woods for 10-15 seconds, swatted a branch aside with its left arm, went up a hill and disappeared without looking toward the boat. The companion kept his head down against the weather and saw nothing.

He saw a greyish-brown form lying on its belly about twelve feet away, with legs behind, arms in front, a large torso and a head. Two forestry workers resurveying a remote allotment for a timber harvest reported being followed at a distance while smelling a heavy stench. During a break they heard large movement in the brush, threw a piece of wood toward the sound, and then saw the backlit shadows of four hair-covered figures behind bushes in a break of sunlight. The witness described two large males standing motionless, a thin female with a hump who vocalized and wrung her hands, and a smaller child-sized figure, before the light faded and the pair left the area to finish work later.

On July 16, 1997, a tour guide driving tourists along a road stopped near a burned-out bridge and watched an upright, hair-covered creature for about 15 minutes from 70 to 80 yards away. The guide moved the bus forward and backward to give passengers views and tried to get a passenger with a telephoto lens to exit for photos, but no one would leave. The guide then drove away and could not relocate the creature on a later return.

He noticed a large, dark-haired bipedal figure emerge below the ridge tip about 83 yards away and step beside a large oak. The two watched each other from behind trees for about three minutes, after which the figure left toward the woods following a loud snap the witness later attributed to an armadillo. He found no tracks on the hard ground.

A hunter and his son paused on a ridge while elk hunting in the morning after hearing a noise and a snap. The father saw a brown, long-haired biped from the shoulders down standing in old cuttings, which grabbed a tree and swung behind it to keep the tree between them. The son reported hearing a high-pitched scream and grunting that the father could not hear. They searched the spot but found no sign, noting an unusual absence of deer and elk sign.
