The witness climbed over a tall fence to escape and was confronted face-to-face across the fence before fleeing along the fence line as the creature chased from the other side until it was stopped by dense vegetation.

From about 100 yards away the witness saw three erect dark-brown figures walking quickly in height order toward timber, with the leader gesturing for the smallest to hurry. The figures disappeared into the timber, and the witness did not investigate but later learned a companion nearby had seen the same thing.

The witness was traveling by truck when a mudslide blocked Highway 50 and stopped with others to view the slide area. The witness then saw a large dark bipedal figure high on the steep hillside across the river, apparently also looking at the slide.
