Daytime sighting by two arrowhead hunters near Gulfport
Two companions searching for arrowheads in a cornfield noticed a dark stationary shape in the fencerow that resembled a topped-off tree. One experienced a strong feeling of being watched and thought the shape appeared to grin. They left the area and when they returned the shape was gone; follow-up characterized it as a massive, very hairy motionless animal over six feet tall.

A military policeman and four squadmates were guarding a burned helicopter crash site overnight in forested mountain terrain. Around 10 p.m. they heard loud howl-like screams from near the wreckage and advanced with a flashlight. They reported seeing three tall hair-covered bipeds scavenging the wreckage and dragging remains, then fired handguns blindly after the light was dropped. They held position until dawn, found no bodies or blood, and left without telling the crash investigators.
Early evening sighting of human-like animal one mile from camp
Three youths hunting squirrels with slingshots encountered a tall, dark-haired human-like animal about 15-20 yards away and watched it for about two minutes. The animal shifted position and made a cough-like vocalization, after which the youths fled to a camper. They returned the next morning with a relative and found only smashed vegetation where it had stood.

From a kitchen window she watched a large reddish-brown hairy biped run toward a creek for about 30 seconds before it jumped from a drop-off into the creek and headed into the ravine. Later that day she found skid-like slip marks and toe impressions on the trail where it had run.

The witness was sleeping on a river beach with companions and woke past midnight. Across the river in bright moonlight the witness saw a large bipedal creature shaking a big pine tree, then running in an arc into the woods. The next morning the witness and a companion found large four-toed tracks in the sand where the creature had run.

The witness was driving alone on the Trans Canada Highway in the early morning when a very large hair-covered man-like animal crossed the road ahead. The animal paused in the ditch and appeared to look for traffic before taking long strides across the highway and down the opposite ditch. The witness looked into the forest where it went but could not relocate it because it moved fast into dense trees.

As she slowed, the figures ran upright across the road in front of her car and disappeared into thick vegetation on the other side. The witness was riding with a companion in daylight when they noticed a small upright figure by the roadside holding a stick. The figure dropped to all fours, moved into the road, then stood bipedally and crossed slowly in front of the car, forcing a brake. After passing, it dropped to all fours again, glanced back, and left into the woods. Both occupants agreed it was not a bear or monkey and described it as about four and a half to five feet tall, dark brown and ape-like.

In 1985 on a Saturday mid-morning, the witness was driving north on U.S. 41 toward Chicago when they looked east into a shallow depression with a stream about 100-150 yards away. They observed a large, very broad, dark-colored figure walking away with visibly swinging arms for 4-5 seconds until trees blocked the view, with tall grass obscuring its lower legs. The witness turned around to re-check the spot minutes later but nothing was there.

The witness watched from a back bedroom through blinds as an animal pulled trash bags from cans and a burn barrel, scattering and rummaging through garbage. Late at night while traveling by car toward Mexico Beach, Florida, the witness encountered an animal squatting at the edge of the pavement near County Road 386 and Highway 98. As the car approached, the animal jumped up and ran bipedally across the road in front of the car into woods on the other side. It was described as about five to six feet tall with long dark shaggy hair with red highlights, and its face was not recalled.
