During a nighttime military training bivouac near Cat Lake, the witness heard huffing and barking sounds approaching down a moonlit hillside with shaking and falling trees. A large upright man-like form with broad shoulders stepped into the clearing, huffed loudly, then ran upright across the clearing with swinging arms and heavy steps felt in the ground. The platoon woke, packed rapidly, and moved away, and a daylight check found knocked-over trees and disturbed soil but no prints.

The witness was walking to a rural residence for a delivery when birds, horses, and deer fled from a nearby tree cluster. The witness then heard a loud deep growl rising into a scream from the trees and saw a very tall, wide, dark furry figure partly hidden in shadows moving along the tree line. Frightened, the witness ran to the truck and left. The next day the resident said strange sounds had occurred lately and warned against entering the woods alone.

Shortly after, three of them watched a thick, dark, hairy biped stride across the road and down a bank into a cornfield. They ran inside to tell a relative, who laughed. They looked toward the sound and saw an upright gray-haired entity about 70 to 80 feet away, with its lower body hidden by bushes. They estimated it stood about 7 to 8 feet tall and noted it had very large eyes.

While listening near dark they heard walking in the woodline about 150 meters away that sounded bipedal. After it got too dark to see, they stood up, shone a light toward the woodline and briefly glimpsed something stepping back, then heard sounds again as a deer ran very close past them.

The witness was riding in a vehicle with two relatives after night fishing when a tall upright figure appeared in the high-beam headlights on a dirt road. The figure traversed the roadway quickly and ascended a steep roadside bank with little apparent effort. The witness watched for only a few seconds, while a relative also saw the figure as it went over the bank.

Three people riding in a car at night saw a very tall, hair-covered biped standing at the roadside. As their car passed, the creature turned and walked into the woods on the same side of the road. The encounter was described as very brief and occurred in mixed woods.

The figure was moving away quickly while looking back over its shoulder, with long arms swinging. The witness and his then-spouse were driving on dirt and logging roads near their campground in daylight. The witness glanced down a side road and saw an upright figure standing in the middle of that road. They did not stop and continued driving, later agreeing they had seen the same thing.

The witness was deer hunting alone from an elevated stand before dawn under a full moon. A large bipedal figure emerged from dense woods and walked along a pipeline clearing toward his position, then turned to face him after hearing his rifle safety click, walked backward briefly, spun around and reentered the woods. A larger tree nearby then shook violently, and after sunrise the witness and his companion found worn trails and a footprint but no clear tracks.

The witness was deer hunting from an old tree stand on a mountain crest in the morning and dozed off. A strong odor and rustling woke the witness to see a small reddish-brown hair-covered biped below eating discarded fruit. A much larger black hair-covered biped then approached vocalizing, the two interacted and appeared to notice the witness before leaving, and a hunting companion nearby also reported seeing a large upright figure moving fast through trees.

Two people hunting deer near a creek crossing watched a shape first mistaken for a stump move, crouch, stand upright and stretch. The witness observed through a rifle scope an apelike face and hair-covered body moving along the creek for about ten minutes. As they backed away, a growl and a single loud scream were heard from its direction before it ran and leapt across the creek, after which the pair left.

A group of teenagers hiked to an abandoned cabin in wooded hills at night. Three companions on the porch reported seeing a tall, dark-haired, hunched figure run across a trail into the woods. The group left immediately and avoided returning to the cabin at night.

The witness was hunting and walking back to a vehicle when they heard noises in brush and across a field. They crouched in brush and saw a large dark brown creature crouching across the field, which then stood erect, grunted, raised its left arm, and walked back into the woods. The witness did not pursue and left directly for the vehicle.

Late at night in fall 1989, the witness was driving seven companions home from a skating rink and slowed for S-curves on the road. A tall light-brown figure crossed in front of the car and headed toward a nearby cemetery. All occupants reportedly watched it for about 10-12 seconds before driving past and taking another way home.
