The witness was riding motorcycles with three companions on an old highway when a fur-covered bipedal creature was seen crouched near the road. The creature stood upright, stared at the witness, then climbed an embankment and ran through the trees with speed, leaping over a fallen tree. The witness shouted for companions to look as they pulled up on their motorcycles.

Near a boulder about 20 yards away the witness saw a large hairy biped that crouched, looked toward the lake and the witness, then stood and walked briskly into trees out of earshot. The witness estimated the encounter lasted 8 to 12 seconds and then left the area quickly without following.

The witness claims they were sitting alone fishing on a riverbank in the early evening when they heard prolonged rustling and noticed a strong foul odor growing stronger. The witness was hiking into Grove Creek Canyon in the afternoon when they saw a large reddish animal on the canyon rim about 100 feet above. The figure was described as about as tall as a large man and was looking east up the canyon for about five seconds. It then turned and walked out of view, and was not seen again during the rest of the hike.

He watched it for several minutes until it stepped over a fallen tree and disappeared into the trees. About an hour later he saw what he believed was the same creature near a rockslide on a larger hill across the lake before it disappeared again. He told his father he had seen a Sasquatch.
