Two people were sitting in a parked car by the lake late at night when they saw a large hairy figure approaching on the road. After turning on the headlights the figure ran into the woods, followed by a strong animal odor, loud crashing and scream-like vocalizations. A log was then thrown with enough force to move their car, prompting them to drive away.

The witness was using an elk call when a large dark figure was seen standing across a clearcut, watching for about 30 seconds before turning with a distinctive upper-body swing and walking uphill into dense aspen. The companion dismissed it without observing it, and a later binocular scan found no further movement.

As they rowed closer the shape stood upright to about seven feet, looked toward them, turned toward a twig-snapping sound behind it, then spun and ran into the forest with further movement sounds heard. After waiting in the canoe, they paddled ashore and found two obscured marks in the sand where it had turned.

Thinking it might be an escaped horse, the witness aimed the truck headlights toward it for a better view. The figure was covered in dark brown hair and moved away rapidly while walking upright. The witness, frightened at not recognizing it, left the area and went home.

The witness was riding an ATV with a passenger on a wide trail in a national forest when a hair-covered upright figure appeared ahead in the open. The figure turned and ran upright into dense woods and was not seen again, though shaking limbs and brush marked where it entered. The passenger did not see the figure.

When the witness went to get water he saw a large hairy head staring in through the kitchen window for about 30 seconds. They turned the plane for a low pass and watched it run along the road with long strides, then leave the road to run uphill over stumps. When they circled for another look, it was gone.

The animal moved to the shoulder and pulled down a tree limb to cover its face while the vehicle passed closely. The witness reports discovering several large footprints near a small stream northeast of Placerville, with broken branches nearby. Only one print was clear enough to photograph, and the witness returned the next day to make a plaster cast.
