Two men checking trap lines on a quiet afternoon in early September 1998 encountered a hair-covered creature at about 100 feet. The creature watched them briefly before running uphill into the forest. The men described brown body hair, a low forehead, small dark eyes, huge hands, a bulky build and a foul odor, then removed their traps and did not return.

The witness was camping with a companion when he repeatedly heard twigs snapping in the woods at night. Around 3:30 a.m. he shone a flashlight into the woods and saw a 7-foot-tall furry figure about 50 feet away with its back turned. After about a minute and a half the figure crouched defensively, and when the witness returned with a gun it was gone and no footprints were found.

A family reports seeing an unidentified tall biped around their rural home over four years, usually at night. The creature is described as 7 to 9 feet tall, walking upright with a slight hunch and running too fast to follow. Footprints, hair, possible saliva, blood stains, and snapped small trees were also found on the property. Up to nine family members in three houses have seen it when arriving, leaving, or moving between houses.

The witness was driving toward Leadville in daylight when he noticed a tall stump-like shape in a meadow about 100 feet away. As he got closer the shape appeared to rotate from the waist up and look at him, revealing a hairy, thick-bodied figure with a head, facial features, and long legs. He braked hard and skidded to a stop, losing sight in the dust, and when he turned back there was no tree or figure in the field.
Three sets of tracks found
Two bear hunters on foot found three sets of large footprints traveling together in a muddy flat back in the woods. The prints were in a low area filled with rain water and were judged to be fairly recent because the edges lacked degradation. A single plaster cast of the largest print was made within 24 hours, but the cast was poor due to inexperience.

A family of four was fishing along the Klamath River on a sunny afternoon when they noticed quiet woods and a strong sour odor. The witness group had set up camp and walked up the mountain to scout for an upcoming elk hunt. From about 200 yards away in an open spot they watched a large black creature running away upright on two legs at high speed. The witness noted experience hunting black bears and stated the creature was not a bear or any known animal, estimating it at about 8 feet tall.

While driving home at night with her mother, the witness saw a tall hair-covered figure standing by a guardrail near a parkway overpass. The figure turned to look at the car, then stepped over the guardrail and disappeared into dense woods. The witness returned the next morning and found the spot choked with briars and thorn bushes.

The witness was riding as a passenger in a truck with a companion driver and two children on a forest road in daylight. Both adults reportedly saw a tall, skinny, brown-haired biped cross the dirt road in a few long strides without reacting to the vehicle. The witness and his wife were coasting on a motorcycle on a wooded road when they saw two large, black, hairy figures standing in the middle of the road facing each other. The figures looked toward them and then ran quickly into the woods in opposite directions, bent at the waist. When the couple reached the spot, the figures were gone.
