Two motorists driving westbound on the freeway at night reported a very tall, thin, hair-covered biped crossing in front of their car toward the river. They narrowly missed striking it and lost sight of it at the guardrail. They then called a relative by cell phone to report what had happened.

The main witness was driving alone on a small two-lane road in the late afternoon to run an errand. A tall, hairy creature with long arms crossed the road in front of his vehicle without stopping and entered the woods. He described it as having different shades of hair, an ape-shaped face, and a large but almost limping stride. He did not stop because the road was on a steep downgrade with a sharp curve and no shoulder.

Late at night in 1982, a driver and a passenger were traveling on a wooded highway when the driver braked suddenly. The driver said a tall, dark, hairy biped was striding across the road in the headlights about 75 feet away and continued on. The passenger had been asleep and did not see it, being awakened by the braking and shout.

A motorcyclist turning onto Fairfield Street claimed a Bigfoot-like creature ran in front of him and caused him to fall. The creature then continued south toward Salt Creek while emitting a terrible smell. The frightened rider got up and left. A nearby resident recalling the story years later said it was in the local newspaper the next day.

Shortly before dawn on a foggy morning, the witness was driving toward a fishing area when headlights illuminated a large fur-covered creature in the road. The creature moved across the highway and leapt up a steep roadside embankment estimated at 14 feet high. The witness was badly shaken, stopped at a cafe, and later reported the incident to county authorities.
