He watched for about six seconds a dark, chimpanzee-like primate about three to four feet tall standing erect on a branch. On the night of August 30 the witness was camping when his dog wandered from the campsite making strange noises and a figure taller than the witness with a visible silhouette and eyes kept moving toward him, reportedly walking upright. The frightened witness fled to a nearby convenience store and called 911 at 10:54 pm. No formal police report was filed because the witness would not return to the campsite with an officer.

Two companions were resting by their vehicles while deer hunting in the early afternoon when two bipedal creatures were seen crossing a road from west to east about two-tenths of a mile away toward pines and a swamp. The lead individual was described as a 6.5-foot light-brown male walking hunched, followed about 15 yards behind by a 5.5-foot black female with breasts who appeared to be holding something at her waist. Both were said to walk without locking their knees.

A tall white-covered creature with dark skin on the face and hands stood nearby with a hand on a tree and was observed for about 30 seconds. Two men checking trap lines on a quiet afternoon in early September 1998 encountered a hair-covered creature at about 100 feet. The creature watched them briefly before running uphill into the forest. The men described brown body hair, a low forehead, small dark eyes, huge hands, a bulky build and a foul odor, then removed their traps and did not return.

On July 16, 1997, a tour guide driving tourists along a road stopped near a burned-out bridge and watched an upright, hair-covered creature for about 15 minutes from 70 to 80 yards away. The guide moved the bus forward and backward to give passengers views and tried to get a passenger with a telephoto lens to exit for photos, but no one would leave. The guide then drove away and could not relocate the creature on a later return.

A mother driving her son home at night watched a very large hair-covered animal cross the road in the headlights about 150 feet away. The witnesses saw it from the neck down, describing a bulky build, dark coloration, a swinging left arm, and crossing the road in about two and a half steps. An investigator later visited the same location and needed almost nine steps to cross the same stretch.
