Two companions parked a motorcycle on a dirt road late at night and walked toward a nearby residence when they heard loud heavy footsteps and brush crashing approaching from a swampy area. They ran back to the motorcycle and fled as the sounds and heavy breathing closed in. As they drove away, one rider looked back and saw a very large, wide, dark hairy figure leap onto the road, land on all fours, then stand erect and grunt. The figure was silhouetted in bright moonlight, preventing detail of face or hands, and was estimated at about seven feet tall.

The witness was coonhunting with dogs in flooded timber at night when the dogs treed separately. After catching their own dogs, the witness heard wading steps, a growl and a whistling sound and smelled a strong putrid odor while the dogs whimpered. The witness then saw a very tall hair-covered creature standing behind them that hissed and splashed water toward them before the witness fled. The creature followed briefly then moved away making moaning sounds, and the witness saw a very large four-toed footprint while leaving.

The witness was walking down a trail in daylight with snow on the ground when a nearby deer appeared to be looking at something behind it. The witness then saw a tall, slim black figure with a human-like torso about 300 feet away. After briefly hunkering down, the figure turned and bounded away through the trees, disappearing in about three seconds.

Two people who were working while talking and looking for rabbits reported seeing a large upright hairy creature they said was not a person. They described it as very mobile and said it jumped a four-foot fence with ease, estimating its weight at 450 to 500 pounds. In July 1983 the witness was driving a tanker truck in the Honobia-Pickens area. A very large hairy creature ran across the road in front of the truck, nearly being hit, and continued running without stopping. The witness estimated it at about seven feet tall with a brownish upper body and lighter lower body and noted it wore no shoes.

They initially thought it was a large person in dark clothing, but as they passed within a few feet it turned its torso to look at them, showing a broad human-like face with a very wide upturned nose, a large torso with breasts, and a conical head with dark coarse hair. They concluded it did not appear human and continued driving without stopping.

The witness was driving with a relative on a highway through woods at night when headlights illuminated a tall dark bipedal figure standing in the road. The figure bent down, picked up a smaller dark figure, looked toward the car, then carried the smaller figure against its chest while moving quickly on two legs into the woods. Both occupants of the car observed the figure and were left in shock.

On New Year's Day morning the witness was birdwatching off-trail in a Florida state park when they noticed a hairy arm gripping a pine with a nest box about 100 yards away. Through binoculars they watched a hair-covered creature hug the opposite side of the trunk, peeking out and shifting to stay hidden for several minutes. When the witness stepped closer, the creature dropped and fled unseen through saw palmettos, leaving a wake of moving vegetation.

The witness and his mother were fishing with his father in a roadside wash at dusk when they heard footsteps in the water that sounded bipedal. A very large, wide figure then came into view in the open wash about 20 feet away, walked past them, turned and went up the bank into the woods. They shouted to the father and quickly left without discussing the event further.
