In January 2003 a relative was chopping wood near the woods edge in the early evening when he noticed a large hairy figure a short distance away, visible from the waist up through a clearing. He froze, dropped the wood, and fled into the house, arriving badly shaken and initially unable to speak before stating he had seen Bigfoot. The figure was reported to have turned and left into denser woods without aggression or sound.

The witness was driving northbound on Sly Park Road before dawn when the high beams revealed a large animal standing on two legs beside the road. The animal dropped to all fours, crossed to the opposite side into roadside brush, then watched the vehicle from the brush where its face was seen close to the passenger window. The witness later estimated its height at about eight feet based on the roadside drop-off and concluded it was not a bear.

A couple driving slowly at night in snow claim a very tall, dark, massive figure crossed the highway in front of their truck and nearby cars while illuminated by headlights. They said it covered the road in only three to four long strides and then vanished to the west side. After a pause they agreed to each other that it had looked like bigfoot.

They noticed a large dark figure in a green winter wheat field about 200-300 yards away that stood upright and watched them for about two minutes while handling a small branch. The witness greeted it, and it turned away and walked toward the field behind the house. During deer season in November 2002, the witness was walking a road near Phillips looking for deer when he saw an upright figure coming toward him. He first thought it was a black bear but, viewing it through a rifle scope from about 200 yards, concluded it was man-like and not a bear or human. When the witness crouched, the figure stopped then ran on two legs into an alder swamp, leaping over water and moving quickly through difficult bog ground.

The witness was at work in the morning and looked out a window, spotting a tall dark figure walking beside a dilapidated house about 30 to 40 yards away. The figure was seen from behind as it walked away with long strides and swinging arms. The witness called to coworkers, but no one else saw it and no tracks were checked.

The witness was hunting squirrels alone late in the afternoon along an old road near a swamp. After smelling a strong foul odor and hearing growls, hoot-like sounds, footsteps and brush movement, the witness continued toward a clearing. The witness then saw a tall reddish hairy creature cross the road behind them in one step and run into the brush, then ran to the truck and left.

The witness was driving home at night when the car ahead came to a complete stop. Two very large, barrel-chested bipedal figures crossed the road in front of the cars with a high-stepping march, appearing unbothered by the vehicles and lights. The witness drove past slowly, did not see them again, and hurried home shaken.

A large fur-covered animal with long arms crossed the road quickly on two legs, stepped onto the guardrail, and leapt down the other side toward the lake. The witness did not stop, stating it was neither a person nor a bear.

During an overnight fishing trip the witness and his girlfriend were sleeping in a parked vehicle near a cabin when they noticed a tall hair-covered figure standing at the tree line and two smaller crouched figures near a truck. After alerting a companion in the cabin, the witness started the vehicle to shine lights on the figures, which then fled into the trees. A companion reported something running across the road as they drove, and later the group heard commotion near the lake.

After shining a flashlight in that direction, the witness saw two hairy bipedal figures cross a fence and then ran inside. Relatives then went outside, reportedly saw the larger figure up close, noticed odor and sounds, and the group found large tracks the next day.

The witness reports driving north on a highway and noticing a gray, hair-covered figure across the river near a creek inlet. After pulling into a turnout, the witness watched the figure repeatedly bend from the hips while appearing to move rocks or forage in the water. The figure then stood upright and looked toward the witness before resuming its activity, and the witness left before it did.

The witness and a companion walked a creek in the late afternoon, and the witness climbed a steep bank to continue on land. From the bank the witness saw a large hair-covered biped in dense woods that moved away very quickly. The companion remained in the creek bed and did not see it, and both left the area along the creek as light faded.

The witness was driving on a rural road in the morning when a figure crossed the road ahead. The witness stopped and watched a tall, reddish-brown haired, human-like and ape-like figure standing about 50 feet away facing him for about five minutes. The figure then walked into the woods, and a later check found no footprints because the ground was too hard.

The witness was driving home around midnight when he saw a tall figure standing by a roadside fence watching him pass. Believing it was a man needing help, he stopped, got out with a flashlight, and started walking back toward it. A loud vocalization shifting from high-pitched to low guttural frightened him, causing him to drop the flashlight and drive away. He returned the next day to recover the flashlight and found only flattened grass with no footprints or hair.

While hiking alone and descending a dry trail, the witness heard a loud crashing nearby and saw a large black ape-like animal running uphill, visible from the waist up. The animal tripped, caught itself, showed its face in profile, then disappeared while a fallen tree rocked and a possible face was glimpsed. The witness photographed the area, heard and saw nothing further, found no other tracks, and later found possible scat in the direction the animal headed.
