Four companions were at a forest picnic camping area late at night and tried wood knocks after noticing eyeshine. Two companions left the vehicle with lights and encountered a very tall hair-covered figure that stepped from behind a tree, looked at them, then walked away slowly. After retreating to the vehicle, the group saw a brown shape crawling toward them and drove away quickly. A companion recorded video of the encounter on a phone.
BFRO Investigator videotapes encounter in Daniel Boone National Forest
An investigator hiked with two companions to the top of a rocky ridge at night to look into recurring activity. While the companions scanned with night vision and a camcorder, the investigator illuminated a sasquatch-like figure standing close below the rocks with a headlamp and watched it withdraw and walk away. The companions recorded eyeshine in the opposite direction, suggesting a second animal, and the group heard footsteps following them as they descended. They later reviewed the tape and confirmed eyeshine had been recorded.
Youths see unknown hairy primate staring at them from distance
Six companions walking in riverside woods around 12:30 a.m. saw a large furry creature crouched behind a bush between two trees, holding a tree and peering at them. When they turned on a camera light they saw red eyeshine and fled in fear. The video did not capture the creature, and later daytime return visits found bones, fur, and a dead deer nearby.
Two young men have a face to face encounter
The witness and his cousin heard noises outside the house for about 20 minutes and went into the backyard with a flashlight. They saw a tall hair-covered figure standing just beyond a six-foot fence staring at them. After a few seconds they ran back inside frightened. The next morning they found two deep impressions in the sandy soil beyond the fence.
Witness observed two creatures crossing the road
About seven years earlier, while driving at dusk on a gravel road into the Blue Mountains, the witness came around a bend and saw two tall figures crossing the road in the headlights. The lights reflected yellow from their eyes while low sunlight illuminated their bodies. The witness stopped and got out after they walked into the woods but saw nothing further and found no tracks because the ground was hard.
