Young Man Has Surprise Encounter at High School Graduation Party
On graduation night in 1982, the witness hid at the edge of a field to blow a predator call as a prank on camping classmates. After calling without effect, the witness heard a branch snap, turned with a flashlight, and saw a tall male sasquatch-like figure about 10 feet away holding brush aside. After a few seconds the witness switched off the light, heard a noise, and the figure was gone when the light returned.

The witness and cousins were riding horses home through a brushy trail in the evening when their horses became agitated. A very tall, very hairy bipedal figure ran beside them, crossed the trail about 40 feet ahead, paused at the brush edge to stare, then disappeared into trees. The group returned the next day and found high broken branches and footprints.

Near Christmas 1980 the witness was riding a snowmobile with a relative on a forest trail at night when they got stuck. Both smelled a strong rotten-meat odor and then the witness saw a fur-covered bipedal figure about six feet tall run across the trail into the bush. They then saw the partial rear view of a large upright hair-covered animal moving away into dense brush while making a guttural sound, and both fled to the house. A group of six people observed a large, brown, long-haired, foul-smelling animal for about 15 seconds in the morning. The animal walked quickly away without running and disappeared into a swampy wooded area when they tried to follow. The witness found footprints, made a cast of one and gave it to the state natural resources agency without receiving a response, and noted another print in stream clay. No vocalizations were heard and the encounter was described as not life-threatening.
