On closer approach it appeared as a dark hair-covered figure seen from behind, which stepped easily over a roadside railing and went down into the woods toward power lines. The next day footprints at the spot were cast during a site visit with a local researcher.

The witness returned to the site with a relative in a vehicle, recorded video, and both watched the figure leave toward pines. She observed a tall hair-covered creature standing about 110 feet away facing her, which then turned and bounded down the steep slope out of sight. Strides in the leaf litter where it fled were later measured at 6 to 7 feet.

They shone a spotlight and saw a large hairy figure crouched at the shoreline, then heard a second crashing nearby. The first figure entered the creek and stood in deep water up to its rib cage while they watched, after which both people fled without looking back.

The witness had just been dropped off at home and was on the porch when occupants of the car began shouting and pointing toward the back of the lot. The witness looked and saw a very large hairy upright form crossing a break in the brush with three deer nearby before it disappeared in one step. The witness later marked a limb level with the creature's head, which investigators measured at 8 feet.

The witness was in bed around 2 a.m. when a powerful stench prompted a look out the bedroom window. A partially cut tree about 100 feet away began to topple, and a camera flash revealed a large brown hunched figure about ten feet from the house, possibly with a second figure near the woodline. The figures left into the woods, and the next day the witness found the tree down with the saw bar displaced and many tracks and cracked walnuts nearby.

The figure moved quickly down a steep bank, across the road, and into dense vegetation, disappearing before the witness could exit the vehicle, though crashing sounds were heard afterward. The dog in the vehicle reacted by whimpering and fixating on the woods.
