During a severe nighttime windstorm with power out, the witness looked out an upstairs window toward a chicken coop and saw a tall dark bipedal figure silhouetted against the coop. The figure faced the house then turned and left quickly toward the woods. Household members downstairs and upstairs simultaneously heard guttural howl-like and whoop-like sounds with growls, and dogs barked intensely. Next morning a heavy trash bin lid was found displaced opposite the wind direction with trash bags missing and a trash trail into the woods.

The figure walked across a trail, paused by a fir tree and looked toward the group, then continued into an adjacent field. The group went to the spot, found flattened brush and a bent-grass trail, estimated the figure's height against the tree, took photos, and then heard knocking beats and hooting sounds after birds flushed and dogs barked in the distance.

The creature looked at them, took two steps up an embankment and disappeared. The animal charged on all fours, killed a hog with blows, then carried it off while exchanging whooping calls with another unseen individual. It paused to stare at the witness before leaving. A hunting partner nearby heard the attack scream and whoops.
