Motorist sighting at night approx 2 miles from NY/VT state line outside Whitehall
Late at night while driving to help a friend, the witness saw what first looked like logs on the roadside. On closer approach it appeared as a dark hair-covered figure seen from behind, which stepped easily over a roadside railing and went down into the woods toward power lines. The next day footprints at the spot were cast during a site visit with a local researcher.
Fishermen encounter upright, slender animal near Lone Butte
Two witnesses driving back from fishing in a national forest rounded a corner and saw a tall black upright figure crossing the road in front of them. It walked quickly uphill and disappeared within a few seconds. They stopped at the spot and found a large footprint, which they later videotaped and cast, and investigators later found additional impressions uphill.

The witness was driving west on a gravel road in the afternoon when a brownish-red creature crossed the road south to north a short distance ahead. The witness estimated it at 6-7 feet tall and over 300 pounds, moving very fast in a few steps with arms pumping and a hunched posture. The witness stopped at the crossing point but noted no odor and found no tracks due to hard ground.
Night time sighting of large bipedal animal by motorist near Babbitt, Minnesota
The witness was driving home at night with family members when a headlight illuminated a very tall, hairy, dark figure crossing the road in front of the car. He tried to point and shout but was initially unable to speak, then asked a relative if she had seen it. The relative had been occupied and had not seen the figure but later said she believed him. The witness reports vivid memory of the event and recurring dreams about it.
