Motorist's daylight sighting in farmlands 45 miles northeast of Springfield

The witness was driving toward town in the morning when she noticed a large upright figure standing by the roadside. She slowed, maintained eye contact for several seconds as she passed within a short distance, and noticed a musty odor. After she passed, she saw in the mirror that the figure crossed the two-lane highway in two steps and disappeared into the woods.
