Two hunters were packing out harvested elk in late afternoon when one noticed movement behind them. About 500 yards away across a steep, icy shale opening they had just crossed, they watched a very dark, tall bipedal figure cross quickly without difficulty. After briefly discussing it and noting they were unarmed and carrying meat, they left the area.

BFRO investigator finds tracks in snow 2001
While driving along a ridge road for field work, the witness noticed large bipedal footprints crossing the road and stopped to examine them. The witness counted about 20 clear prints with a long stride and recorded them on video before leaving. The witness returned the following day and located additional, more weathered prints across the road.
