While riding as a passenger on a congested interstate at dusk in drizzle, the witness watched a large hair-covered animal loping in a deep drainage ditch. As the car pulled alongside, the animal stood upright on two legs, stepped up the bank and over a barbed-wire fence into a tree line and disappeared. The husband who was driving did not see the figure.

After a flat tire at night, the witness left his car to walk toward a companion's car parked beyond an overpass. While descending a slope beside a fenced pasture, he encountered a small hair-covered biped squatting and digging, which then stood and shuffled sideways along the fence while holding it. The witness fled back to his car while shouting over a radio, then locked himself inside and called for roadside assistance.

In May/June 1986, the witness was helping a companion gather firewood on a farm when they found trees stripped of bark with snapped branches. Later, while sitting by a pond, the witness saw a very tall, muscular, reddish-brown upright creature about 100 feet away at an electric fence near tobacco trailers. The creature sniffed the air and grunted while a dog barked, then ran back into the woods. The companion's father arrived with a shotgun and found footprints larger than his boot where the creature had stood.

Six people arriving by car at a new house at the edge of a subdivision saw a tall hair-covered man-like figure digging in a trash can at the end of the driveway. Under the headlights it looked toward them, then strode and loped away bipedally with a very long stride without dropping to all fours. After a companion retrieved a gun the figure was gone, and a neighbor's normally aggressive barking dog was found silent, frightened and hiding under a deck.
