The main witness was driving alone on a small two-lane road in the late afternoon to run an errand. A tall, hairy creature with long arms crossed the road in front of his vehicle without stopping and entered the woods. He described it as having different shades of hair, an ape-shaped face, and a large but almost limping stride. He did not stop because the road was on a steep downgrade with a sharp curve and no shoulder.
