Hunter has a daylight sighting of a tall biped west of Darrington
The witness and a companion were hunting at the end of a ridge-top logging road and split up to glass opposite slopes. The witness smelled a rotten odor and heard crashing below, then saw a dark head, shoulders and upper back moving downhill upright for a few seconds before losing sight of it while still hearing movement. Visibility worsened with rain and low clouds and both soon left, with the witness not telling the companion at the time.
Man has a close encounter with a large, upright creature in a swamp near Big Lake
After fishing, the witness sat on the bed of his truck at a parking area above a swamp at night. He watched a dark figure with shining eyes approach to within about 10 yards. After he whistled to announce his presence, the figure stood upright on two legs and retreated while watching him, tripped and got back up, then disappeared behind trees. He left immediately and did not return for some time.
Large animal seen crouching near Baker Lake
The witness was driving out of a campground near Baker Lake in the early afternoon when she noticed a large fur-covered creature about 50 feet away up a hill. The creature was still and crouching with its back turned, exposing its back, shoulders, hips and upper buttocks with sparse reddish hair and visible musculature. After watching for a few seconds and not wanting to disturb it, she drove away.
Three hikers see something cross their path
The witness left fish out near a lakeside camp and went to sleep in a tent. During the night something entered camp, disturbed the fish can, and then ran into a swamp making loud noise. After the group built a fire and returned to tents, prolonged loud screams were heard from across the lake for about 30 minutes despite shooting, yelling and banging pots.
Daylight sighting by motorists near the town of Big Lake
The witness was coasting in a car with four children on a mountain dirt road in the afternoon when they rounded a bend. An almost-black figure partway across the road heading uphill paused to look at the car, then ran bipedally downhill into thick brush and disappeared. Three of the five occupants saw the brief sighting.
Recalling a morning sighting as a teenager horseback riding near Marblemount
The witness and a relative were riding horses on a ranch trail in the morning when the horses stopped and refused to move. After the birds went quiet and a branch snap was heard, the witness saw the back of a large hair-covered being about twenty feet away moving trees aside before disappearing. The horses then galloped back to the barn, and the relative declined to discuss what happened.
