Daytime sighting by a motorist on FL-19 in the Ocala National Forest
The witness was driving on Highway 19 through the Ocala National Forest in the morning when she noticed a tall hair-covered biped in a partially cleared area beside the road. The creature was described as about seven feet tall with broad shoulders and dark hair, watching her from at or partly behind a tree. After several seconds of eye contact it stepped behind the tree out of view.

In summer 1980 the witness and a companion were hanging out listening to the radio on a moonlit trail when a companion pointed out a hunched figure holding a small tree about 30 feet away. They shouted at it, advanced for a better look, then fled home in fear. The next day they compared descriptions and agreed closely.
