The witness was driving south with two family members at dusk when a very tall dark upright figure was seen standing at the crest of a hill by the highway. The figure crossed the road west to east and disappeared into heavy woods beyond a steep rocky drop. The driver stopped at the crossing point but could see nothing further.

The figure was seen clearly in bright headlights at close range and crossed from south to north with very long strides. The witness was certain it was neither a bear nor a human.
