Deer hunters find footprints in mud

While hunting deer with a companion in October 1996, the witness found two well-defined human-like footprint sets in mud of very different sizes. About five minutes later a very loud pounding was heard from dense woods downhill no more than about 50 feet away, prompting them to move away. About 300 yards away they found a third footprint set intermediate in size between the first two.
