A hunting partner nearby heard the attack scream and whoops.

After the witness brightened the headlights, the creature approached, struck the car and leaned on the hood while screaming loudly. The witness reversed around it and drove away while still hearing it screaming in the distance.

The witness, a truck driver hauling oil at night, had just locked a lease gate when trailer work lights revealed a tall hair-covered figure stepping from brush. The figure paused to look at the witness, then silently crossed the road into the woods about 30 feet away. The witness and companions were cooking catfish at a hunting camp when a noise came from the well where fish guts had been left. The witness went toward the well with a light and rifle, heard a moan, and saw a large dark form that stood upright. After shouting warnings and firing shots in the air, the witness said the form moved off and footsteps were heard in leaves. The next day large five-toed tracks were found at the well and most of the guts were gone.
