A large hairy figure came to the edge of the pavement, paused briefly, then turned and went back into the woods. Both occupants viewed it from a short distance and discussed matching descriptions on the way to the job.

The witness, then a teenager, led four companions single-file through dark woods at night to take lumber from a house under construction. The group heard a noise ahead, then saw a very tall upright figure with red eyeshine in the weak flashlight beam.
