Afternoon sighting while hiking at Mahlon Dickerson Reservation
While camping with two relatives, the witness hiked off-trail and circled back toward the campsite road. Looking back toward an upper trailhead, the witness saw a tall, bulky black figure walking from right to left and quickly out of sight. The witness then moved forward to the spot with the relatives and later compared the figure's size to a relative, estimating it much taller and wider.

The witness was driving slowly on a foggy morning when she noticed a tall hair-covered figure beside a cornfield holding corn. The figure stood upright to full height, looked directly at her, then crossed the road in two strides and went down a creek bank. She was alone and too frightened to look for footprints.

The witness was with relatives and friends on a back deck in late afternoon when the group watched a grey ape-like figure sitting on a hillside rock about 100 yards away. After a BB gun was fired toward it, the creature turned toward the group, then climbed a steep rock face hand-over-hand and walked bipedally over a ridge out of sight. No vocalizations were heard and facial features could not be distinguished at the distance.

In early autumn at mid-day the witness was burning damp feed sacks behind a bunkhouse when a flare-up was followed by a startled sound behind him. He turned and saw a tall reddish-brown biped run upright into virgin woods and disappear within seconds. He later returned with a gun for safety but found no tracks because of leaves and ground clutter.

Three cars traveling together at night on a rural road through forest slowed when a creature was seen crouched on the left side. It stood and crossed the road between the lead and middle cars, then stopped in a drainage ditch on the right where it was watched in headlights for about a minute. The cars continued without stopping until reaching a gas station much later.
Two sisters have late-night sighting through bedroom window
The witness and her younger sister were talking in a dark bedroom late at night when they heard twigs crunching outside. Looking out the window in bright moonlight, they saw a very large hairy bipedal animal in the yard. Their grandfather came to the room, knocked out the window screen and fired a rifle at it. The animal bellowed, ran on two legs and stepped over a barbed-wire fence toward a creek, and no sign was found the next day.
