Road crossing sighting on Hwy 109 near Mt. Gilead and Uwharrie National Forest
The witness was riding in a car north of Mt. Gilead around noon when an entity appeared about 200 feet ahead. It crossed the highway in two bounds within five to six seconds and headed toward railroad tracks, disappearing before the car reached the spot. The driver did not see it because he was looking in the side mirror at a car behind.
Campers have morning sighting in Uwharrie National Forest
The witness and his father were driving back toward their campsite in the national forest in the morning when they saw a large upright figure on and crossing the dirt road. The figure briefly stopped, looked toward them, then stepped off the road and walked downhill into the woods, at one point completely blocking a roadside sign from view. They drove to the spot where it left the road and found the brush undisturbed and no tracks.
Road-crossing sighting by motorist on Hwy 220 north of Candor
The witness was traveling by vehicle on a highway in daylight when she saw a large dark furry bipedal figure emerge from woods on one side. The figure stepped over a roadside fence, crossed four lanes quickly with a smooth gliding run, then stepped over a fence on the far side and disappeared into a pine thicket. A companion traveling with her did not see it.
