The witness was hiking with an expedition group near an old building and went behind it to look for sign. About 50 yards away the witness saw a dark shape that resolved into a face with heavy brow, broad nose, dark hair and dark eyes that turned to the side and back before disappearing. Afterward the witness heard whistles and a low guttural sound, felt unwelcome and unwell, waited, then later sketched what was seen.

The witness was crossing railroad tracks by car with a relative in Monroe County, Tennessee, during the day. They noticed a tall, shaggy, light-brown figure standing on two legs in the middle of the tracks ahead. They stopped to watch it for several minutes as it faced them motionlessly from about 150-200 feet away, then drove on when another vehicle approached.

Two men had finished dredging for gold and were talking when they noticed a large dark creature about 100 feet away partly behind a dead tree and tailings pile. The creature reached up and snapped off a tree limb, looked at them for 10 to 20 seconds while a strong smell was present, then turned and walked into the woods. They stayed in the area for two more weeks with no further sightings but reported smelling it several times.

Two companions hiking toward a creek to fly-fish watched a large whitish animal cross the trail about 50 yards ahead and remain visible for several seconds while moving on all fours. It was described as bear-sized with shaggy light hair, a flat sparsely haired face with no muzzle or visible ears, and very long legs. Shortly afterward limbs in a nearby tree shook vigorously, but the animal was not seen again.
