He observed its back, broad shoulders, and reddish-brown hair for a few seconds before driving past, then turned around but it was gone. He stayed in the area for hours making calls that drew coyote and owl-like responses, and returned the next day with a companion to search for tracks without success.

The witness was walking alone up an old mountain logging road when he came around a sharp bend and noticed a creature crouched in a creek crossing the road. The creature rose to two feet and turned its head toward him. Frightened, the witness froze briefly and then ran back down toward the cabin blowing a whistle.

The witness and a companion were driving on remote backroads at night when small pines moved and a large figure emerged. The creature crossed the road in two steps, pausing midway to turn and stare at them. The witness estimated it was about seven and a half feet tall with ice-blue eyes. The companion was frightened and would not allow the witness to leave the car to check for footprints.
