The witness sat in a parked car using a predator call to attract coyotes. Looking in the rearview mirror, they saw a hairy figure peeking from behind a tree about 60 feet away, watching the car, then moving to a second tree before disappearing from view. About 20 minutes later a cow elk walked through the same area, which the witness used to estimate the figure's height at about six feet.
Early afternoon sighting by hiker near Morton
In the early afternoon the witness and companions were walking down an old logging road when they heard strange whistling, gurgling pig-like sounds and trees shaking nearby. The witness approached to about 30 feet and saw the back of a light beige, clean-haired figure with darker face and hands holding trees, which then struck trees, turned away, and ran off on all fours while whistling continued from across the road. Companions farther away heard the whistles, thuds and thrashing but did not see the figure.
Two boys see a large animal wading in pond near Morton
Two companions had spent the day fishing at dredged ponds and were leaving at dusk when they heard splashing. On the far side of a pond they saw a dark, broad-shouldered figure standing chest-deep in water with its back to them, repeatedly raising its arms to slap the water. They ran to a nearby house to report what they had seen.

As an 11-year-old the witness was playing piano alone in the living room at night when she felt watched and turned to see a hairy biped looking in through a large picture window. She froze and then screamed, and the creature reacted with surprise and fled on two legs. Her father saw its back as it fled, and relatives in a camper outside also saw it run past toward a field and creek.
