Kayaker describes daylight sighting on river near town of White Salmon
After rafting, the witness rested beside a calm stretch of the White Salmon River. After about 30 minutes without kayakers, a tall skinny black-haired hominid emerged from woods about 80 yards away and waded across the river toward the witness's side. At about 50 yards it turned its head and shoulders toward the witness, then entered riverside brush and moved up an embankment out of sight.
Nighttime sighting by a motorist near BZ Corner
Late at night the witness was driving slowly on a rural road when reflective eyes were seen ahead on the opposite side. A large thick-legged figure crossed the road in front of the car, briefly turning its torso to look at the driver before continuing into a roadside ditch. The witness drove slowly past within a few feet, then sped away feeling watched without looking back.
Vocalizations and tense sighting reported by couple hiking and camping near Trout Lake
On a hot midday in 2004, the witness was walking alone on an overgrown forest road while cave hunting with her husband nearby in dense brush. After hearing gravel move behind her, she saw a huge cinnamon-colored hairy human-like figure cross a ditch in one or two fast quiet steps and stop motionless behind trees, leaving only a massive shoulder and long muscular arm visible. Frozen with fear, she slowly backed away about 100 yards before shouting for her husband, who arrived after the figure had vanished.
Large prints found in mud and then vocalizations heard south of Yakama Reservation
The witness drove to rented pasture to check fences where cattle had been getting out. He found a large tree knocked through the fence with strange hair on the wire, moved the tree and repaired the fence, then found very large fresh footprints in mud near a creek. He heard a grunt near the repair site and later a high-pitched scream from the same direction, found items tossed from his truck bed, then left and did not return.
Hunters observed creature just before vocalization screams were heard
The witness and his father were turkey hunting near a clearing at dusk when a dark figure emerged from timber and approached before abruptly fleeing downhill into a steep canyon. They later walked to the spot and estimated its height at about 6-foot-6 to 7 feet based on a tree limb. Later that night at a nearby camp they were awakened by an extremely loud, prolonged AHHH-like yell from the clearing direction, repeated about half an hour later from farther up the canyon.
Hunter observes trio of animals near Nestor Peak Lookout
While hunting at dawn in the Nestor Peak area in fall 1982, the witness watched a smaller hairy biped notice him, scream and crouch to hide. A much larger similar animal then approached, touched the smaller one, and stared at the witness while breathing heavily, before the two walked uphill. A third slightly smaller animal joined them at the ridgetop and all three disappeared over the hill into the canyon.
