Surveyor has daytime encounter in the Tehachapi Mtns near Frazier Park
The witness was driving slowly along a ridge-line dirt road during a boundary survey at midday when a black figure was spotted among trees. Initially mistaken for a stump and then a bear, the figure was judged too thin and tall to be a bear. As the vehicle closed to close range, the figure sprinted across the road on two legs and disappeared into trees.
A daylight sighting near Frazier Park, by a hiker
The witness was hiking with a companion in a pine forest and stopped for a break near a rocky outcropping above a ravine. From about 150 feet above, the witness watched a dark brown, upright, hair-covered figure moving slowly through heavy brush below. When the witness shouted to the companion, the figure looked up showing a human-like face, then left quickly through the brush before the companion could see it.
At noon, a young lady on horse back has a face-to-face encounter
When 14, the witness rode a horse on a family ranch near Tehachapi to the edge of a pine forest where a long-dead cow lay. There she saw a tall, black-haired, human-like figure leaning against a large tree, and they looked at each other for about a minute. Frightened, she turned back to the ranch and says she never returned to that area.
