Large creature leaps in front of car on TX-37 near the Sulphur River

Late at night the witness was driving with two companions when a large dark long-haired animal came into the headlights and leapt or ran across the road at an angle. The animal moved very fast on two legs using its long arms, with one arm described as rotating fully over its head, then disappeared down the grade on the far side. All three occupants reported seeing the same ape-like animal during the brief several-second encounter and were left shocked.
