Motorist has afternoon sighting on Sherman Creek Pass
The witness was driving over a mountain pass in the afternoon when a large man-like figure crossed the highway in three steps and entered a swampy area. The witness stopped and searched for tracks but found none. An investigator later spoke with the witness by phone and recorded additional size and appearance details.
Driver has sighting in early evening west of Shermans Pass
The witness was driving west on the highway in the late afternoon when he came around a curve and saw a large dark creature at the guardrail on the right. The creature stood upright, turned its head to look at him, then turned and leapt feet-first off the embankment out of sight. The witness believed it was not a bear because of its flat face, wide shoulders, and upright movement over the guardrail.
Homeowner recalls early morning sighting near Malo
Around 6 a.m. in dim light the witness was inside her unfinished home when her two outside dogs barked toward the creek crossing on the driveway then ran back to the porch frightened. She looked from the window and saw a very tall, wide, dark hair-covered person-like figure with no apparent neck standing by a tree about 150 feet away. When it seemed to notice her it stepped behind the tree, and when she glanced away to call her husband it was gone. Later that day she and her husband found large footprints and broken branches at the location.
