He tried to follow it toward the adjacent woods but saw and heard nothing further. Hours later he was told two workers behind the same house had also reported seeing a monster.

In April 2002 just before sunrise, the witness let her dogs into the fenced backyard. The dogs ran barking toward the fence then retreated yelping as she noticed a tall hair-covered figure behind a tree in the neighboring yard. The figure leaped sideways between trees then moved forward toward her to within about 20 feet on the other side of the fence, causing her to flee inside and lock the doors.

In summer 2005 the witness drove back from a relative's house late at night and pulled into the mother's driveway. The witness was driving home around midnight when he saw a tall figure standing by a roadside fence watching him pass. Believing it was a man needing help, he stopped, got out with a flashlight, and started walking back toward it. A loud vocalization shifting from high-pitched to low guttural frightened him, causing him to drop the flashlight and drive away. He returned the next day to recover the flashlight and found only flattened grass with no footprints or hair.

The witness was driving south on Interstate-5 at Rice Hill in the early morning in light rain when headlights illuminated a figure crouched by the guard rail. The figure stood up, took a step or two, jumped the guard rail, and went down the embankment. The witness pulled over downhill, waited about five minutes, then continued without searching on foot.

The witness and a companion carried makeshift torches toward the woods at dusk but turned back at the tree line. A large grey figure rushed toward them from the woods, prompting them to flee to the house. After waiting inside, they saw a large grey ape-like creature squatting in the field watching them, then retreated again. Overnight they heard commotion, and next morning found shredded torches, a belt torn with teeth marks, and dents in a parked car.

From across the valley he watched a large hair-covered biped feeding on the ground for about fifteen minutes, at times standing alert to listen. After an unseen uphill sound, the creature made a metallic ping call and walked away bipedally along a cleared fence line.

The witness and a friend were hiking on logging roads when they paused for a restroom break and the witness walked a short way back down the road. The witness saw a big, hairy, dark figure coming down a steep embankment upright with heavy thumping steps and crashing brush. After the witness screamed the figure stopped and looked toward them, and both hikers ran away shouting about a bear.
