A woman driving east in daylight saw a tall black-haired upright figure cross the two-lane highway in front of her and disappear into brush on the other side. She stopped, locked her doors, waited, then drove to the crossing point and searched but could not locate where it entered the brush. She said it was too big to be human and took very long strides.

Eight foot tall creature seen standing under a tree at family cabin
The witness, then 13, was staying with relatives at a forested weekend cabin. After the aunt raised an alarm about a supposed bear, the witness went to look and saw an upright, hair-covered figure standing under a tree with an arm resting on a branch. When the witness stepped forward and the uncle appeared with a rifle, the figure turned and walked away up a deer path into the woods.
