Tracks found south of the Warm Springs Reservation (REPORT UPDATED)
A couple out fishing and scouting for elk followed animal tracks and noticed a strong bad odor, white coarse hair covering a stump, and very large deep footprints around a wallow leading toward a creek. They estimated the prints were about a day old and also noted scarred trees and broken branches in the area. Frightened by the size and strangeness of the signs, they left and reported the experience right away.
Witness observed a tall rangy fiqure emerge from the treeline
While driving on US Highway 97 near sunset, the witness saw a very tall dark figure emerge from the treeline and cross both lanes in four strides without pausing. The figure moved briskly with swinging arms and a forward-leaning upper torso before disappearing into pines on the far side. The witness's companion was watching a hawk and did not see the figure, and the witness remained uncertain what it was.
Boy sees large biped crossing road behind school bus
The witness was waiting for the morning bus in foggy, dim light when a large dark figure emerged from behind the approaching bus. The figure ran quickly across an open sagebrush valley toward ponderosa trees and the nearby forest, disappearing behind houses. The witness noted the speed and lack of any trail, and later found only faint ground marks.
Two fishermen encounter an unknown biped along a creek
Two people approaching a bend in a creek to fish saw a creature in the water first thought to be a bear. The animal stood upright, watched them for a short time, then walked to the treeline while continuing to watch them before disappearing into the trees in large steps. The witnesses then left the area and moved their camp.
Witnesss saw a large, light reddish brown, hairy man standing in the road shielding it's eyes from the headlights of her car
The witness was driving home at night in summer 1980 with family asleep in the car when a light-colored, hairy, male figure emerged from roadside trees and stopped in the headlights. She stopped the car and observed it face-to-face, noting its size, musculature, long head hair, facial hair, and strong odor before it walked off the road. Her companions slept through the event.
Memory told of a daylight sighting while fishing a creek near Crescent Lake Junction
The witness was fishing alone up a creek in the afternoon when he came within about 25 yards of a large hair-covered figure resting against a stump. The two made eye contact for several seconds before both fled in opposite directions, the figure running up the creek. The witness described it as a clear daylight sighting and did not return to look for traces.
