A white, roughly 7-foot-tall creature then crossed the road in front of them from one wooded side to the other. After hearing it approach again, they fled and encountered a park officer.

A tall white hair-covered human-like figure stepped over the fence, crossed the cemetery, then noticed the witnesses and left quickly over the opposite fence into timber with loud crashing. In mid-summer 1975 around midnight, the witness and three companions were wading the Olentangy River when they heard breaking brush and saw a tall hair-covered biped at the tree line. The figure followed them downstream as they moved, and they heard heavy movement in the water and a howl as they fled to a nearby apartment complex. At the woods edge near the apartments it stopped and stared at them before they ran toward town and abandoned their gear for two days.
