Landowners describe sporadic incidents over two decades near Cherryville, vicinity of Meramec River
The witness and her husband sat on the front porch at night with a night vision scope. They watched a tall, huge figure standing about 50 yards away in the woods, passing the scope back and forth, and saw it crouch down and stand back up. While they watched, a rock was thrown onto the carport by something else nearby, and when the husband started toward the figure it vanished in a sudden flash of movement.
Nighttime sighting at City Lake Park outside Sullivan
The witness was walking at night along a road by City Lake Park when he saw a tall, thin, hairy figure about 70 to 100 feet ahead pass under a park light. He described it as about 7 feet tall with long legs and ape-like hairy arms with several inches of hanging hair. Frightened, he turned back toward town. He says he walks there almost every evening and had never seen anything similar.
Campers see large figure cross river in moonlight
After dark while camping on a river sandbar, the witness and a companion watched a large bipedal creature enter the river upstream in bright moonlight. The creature waded through fast, knee-deep water, turned at the waist to look at the men after one spoke, then exited to the opposite bank and disappeared. The sighting lasted about 10 seconds, and the two observers did not search for sign the next morning.
